Queen Mary's College

challenge

Queen Mary's College is a large site of over 23 acres, occupied by over 2500 students and staff, with multiple buildings of various ages, some of which have organically developed into their current use and design, resulting in many dead-legs and redundant installations. It had become a daunting task to manage all the legal compliance requirements on a site of this size and as a team with limited working experience of Legionella management.

solution

They had a particularly troublesome building that continuously produced abnormal test results, despite regular flushing and maintenance. Broadwater identified the source of the problem and developed a robust and successful solution.

Broadwater have supported Queen Mary's College for more than five years and in that time, we’ve made several simple but successful changes to pipework and other installations which has significantly reduced their levels of concern in certain areas.

Our relationship with Broadwater has positively impacted on our in-house team by giving us back valuable time and resource to carry out other compliance and maintenance tasks.  Our expenditure on remedial actions has also significantly reduced.  The customer service supplied by Broadwater is excellent, and as an educational establishment which continually battles with budgets,  their pricing is also at the right level for us.
